Toads are central characters throughout the Super Mario universe, and appear regularly throughout Mario games.

But two of the biggest Nintendo Switch titles - Super Mario Odyssey and Luigi's Mansion 3, allow both Mario and Luigi to deal a fair amount of abuse and torture to the poor ol' mushroom retainers.

What did Toad ever do to deserve this treatment? He helps out Mario and Luigi all the time!

In Super Mario Odyssey, Mario can jump on Toad, throw Cappy at him and the Toad will still be super happy and continue to clap his hands or dance. Hmmmm? Do these guys not get mad at all?

If you think that is bad, Luigi is even more ruthless. In Luigi's Mansion 3, after completing a mission to rescue a Toad, you have to guide him back to Professor E. Gadd's lab in the basement.

But interestingly, he could also be sucked into the Poltergust G-00 vacuum and be shot out as a projectile. Wow Luigi, now that is pretty savage. You can fire Toad up into the ceiling, and also fire him into a brick wall to unlock something - since this is a actual game mechanism, clearly it isn't an easter egg added to the game! Ouch!

Yep, the famous Mario Bros. are Toad abusers. Who knows, maybe one day, Toad might be out for revenge!
