Mario Strikers hinted in Luigi's Mansion 3 for Switch

It's been practically a generation since the last release of a Mario Strikers game on a Nintendo console. The Mario Strikers series is an arcade style soccer game featuring Mario characters. Mario Strikers Charged was the last entry was released in 2007.

In the recently released Luigi's Mansion 3, there's actually a reference to the Mario Strikers series. In the 8th floor, the "Paranormal Productions" studio has a hallway with a bunch of movie posters on the wall in the movie theatre hallway.

One of these posters depicts Mario with a charged up soccer ball like from the Mario Strikers games!

The developer of Luigi's Mansion 3 is a Canadian-based Next Level Games, which also developed Super Mario Strikers for the GameCube and Mario Strikers Charged for the Wii. Could Next Level Games be teasing that the next Mario Strikers game is under development? It seems like this easter egg is more than just a coincidence.

Will a Mario Strikers game be coming to the Nintendo Switch any time soon? A soccer mini-game in Super Mario Party is all we got right now!
