The @SuperMario35th Twitter account has posted a new video with new footage of Super Mario Galaxy within the Super Mario 3D All-Stars compilation showing that the game's spin attack can be performed using the press of a button.

Super Mario Galaxy Spin Attack Using 'Y' Button Press - Super Mario 3D All-Stars

In this video, it is shown that the spin attack that Mario does by summoning Luma can be performed by pressing the "Y" button - the same button to throw Cappy in Super Mario Odyssey. It can also be done flick of the right Joy-con - the same way as it was done on the Wii remote.

The spin attack is used in Super Mario Galaxy to attack enemies, break objects, open switches and doors, and also gives Mario a slight boost in the air time for performing jumps.

It wasn't shown how this would work with the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, but given that controller also has motion controls, it should work in a similar fashion.
