Mario Kart: Double Dash
- Bonus Classic Courses
Posted on April 1, 2004 @ 12:00 AM EDT by TW
It has been reported that, all the courses from the Nintendo 64
game, Mario Kart 64 can be unlocked in the GameCube version of Mario
Kart: Double Dash. This is great news for gamers who want to relive
nostalgic memories of the classic N64 game, as well as those who
have not played MK64 to receive a extensive bonus.
Including previous Mario Kart courses in a game is not a new
idea, this has been done in Mario Kart: Super Circuit for the Game
Boy Advance, where the Super Mario Kart tracks from the Super NES
game were included as an extra.
The "classic courses", as they are called in Mario
Kart: Double Dash, can be
opened up by winning the Gold in the All Cup Tour (Mirror) with all 16
original characters, along with the 4 secret characters found in
Mario Kart: Double Dash. Essentially you need 10 winning teams of
all 20 different characters, as long as each team wins at least
once, the task can be completed.
These courses are essentially the same as the original, except
that they will have MKDD additions such as zippers, and more
frequent item boxes. They are available to play in the regular Grand
Prix (GP) and the Versus (VS) modes.
We have received official word from Nintendo of Europe that the
bonus Mario Kart 64 courses can be found in Mario Kart: Double Dash.
"Congratulations for opening up the classic courses, we are
surprised that someone actually attempted to perform such a feat,
now other gamers can take up this challenge," a UK representative
commented.
We were provided with two screenshots from Nintendo of Europe,
the first of which featuring Mario Raceway, and the second having
Kalimari Desert.
